FREEDOM is something I value highly and it’s also something that I advocate through a Digital Lifestyle. However with my content here at Geekoutdoors, it seems like I’m not practicing what I preach. Since the site’s inception, I’ve worked on writing blog content that matches my episodes on my YouTube channel. The primary purposes of doing this were to create more content for the site, give people the option to read about the episode, and improve my writing skills. But as I got further along into my Geekoutdoors journey, I realized a couple of things: writing content takes a TON of time and I have lots of creative ideas that I wanted to express. So with those two things, I realized that I couldn’t keep up writing episodes to match my YouTube channel as I was creating videos nearly daily and writing about episodes that people could just easily watch on YouTube was both redundant and restricting.
After that realization, I did try some other things to expand the channel by developing audio episodes, Tech Tutorials and guests posts. And those categories are worth keeping, but it still didn’t fix the biggest, most time consuming part which was writing more regular blog posts. So with all of that, a solution popped into my tiny brain: just write whatever I want to talk about. Yup that was it! Simple solution to my content conundrum. This was my site so I had the power to do whatever I wanted so why did I restrict myself like I was working for a boss or something? So from this moment on, I’m going to write about more stuff that I find Geeky allowing me the FREEDOM to express my creativity however I want while providing people with more content.
